Description: This is a set of
activities and background information that uses sickle
cell anemia to teach multiple genetics concepts. One or
more of the activities could be taken out of the module
and performed in the classroom. Communication between
the GEON member and teacher would be necessary to make
sure students have had sufficient exposure to the
background material.
Reviewer Comments:
“This resource is recommended for its
variety of media and activities as well as the
connections made between different aspects of genetics.
The lesson could be a starting point for many other
topics in genetics.”
