Description: Pairs of students flip coins to determine characteristics of their “child.” The material covers multiple types of inheritance and address variation both of which are consistently absent from other similar activities. This activity can be done is one class period and is easily organized. Students need background knowledge to make sure this activity does not create or perpetuate misconceptions regarding inheritance.
