Description: This
activity will help students understand the link between
genes and chromosomes and reinforce the concepts of
dominant and recessive genes, incompletely dominant
genes and co-dominant genes. It will also stimulate
discussion and thought about what are or are not genetic
traits.
Reviewer Comments:
“Simple activity but efficient with a
good assessment and likely good student interest.”
"The strength of this activity are the
assessments. Students draw a fictitious chromosome which
requires knowledge and creativity, because they must
place their own ideas for traits on it. Then they must
do a class presentations where they present one of the
traits on their chromosome and how it is inherited."
