Genetics Education & Outreach Network

These curriculum overviews highlight exemplary genetics curriculum resources to give GEON members tools to consider when speaking and presenting in K-12 classrooms.

Background: There are a significant number of genetics curriculum resources designed by different companies, curriculum development outlets, state curriculum designers and individual teachers. What resources are good? How do you know? As part of the Geneticist-Educator Network of Alliances (GENA) Project, a Curriculum Content Review Committee was formed. Each member provided information on resources they found or currently utilize to teach genetics, from these resources, the ones that teach patterns of inheritance were selected and two members of the committee reviewed each resource.
